Run against racism

Grasshopper Club Zurich and its fans are making a strong stand. Since the start of the 2019/20 Season, all players of the senior team line up in jerseys bearing the "No To Racism" lettering.

With the "No To Racism" lettering on the jerseys, the club wants to highlight that GC does not tolerate any kind of discrimination - neither by race nor otherwise. Zurich's long-standing club conducts in-depth integration work with players from different cultural areas. Sme 280 players with roots in southern and southeastern Europe, 132 in Switzerland, 34 in African states, 15 in Northern and Central Europe, eleven in South America, five in Asia, and two each in North America and Eastern Europe are trained and deployed in the youth system.   With this clear statement, Grasshoppers are making a strong stand against racism. "In the recent past, some individual voices have become heard according to which racist ideas are spreading in the environment of Grasshopper Club Zurich," said Chairman of the Board András Gurovits. This will be addressed resolutely. "With this campaign, we are making it clear to everyone that GC does not tolerate any discrimination or racist tendencies. We are delighted that our fans support these values and expressly support open stands accessible to all supporters. Discrimination by gender, sexual orientation or background is not tolerated," says the Chairman.
